Over 60s soon able to lift £15 Christmas gift

CUMBERNAULD and North Lanarkshire’s over 60s population will shortly be able to lift their £15 Christmas gift from North Lanarkshire Council.

Announcing the details online, the North Lanarkshire Council website says: “If you're 60 or over and live in North Lanarkshire, you will receive a special Christmas gift from North Lanarkshire Council of £15.”

The council have announced that people can call into numerous cash collection offices on Saturday 17th November, Saturday 24th November, Saturday 1st December between 9.30am and 2pm or Monday 3rd December to Thursday 6th December between 9.30am and 4pm.

The collection points include:

  • 26 Motherwell Road, Bellshill              
  • 135 Burnhead Street, Viewpark         
  • 162 Station Road, Shotts                    
  • 126-130 Main Street, Coatbridge      
  • Parkfoot Street, Kilsyth
  • 69/71 Merry Street, Motherwell
  • 236 Main Street, Wishaw
  • 10 Bank Street, Airdrie
  • 2/4 Forth Walk, Cumbernauld
  • Blackwoods Crescent, Moodiesburn (closes between 1pm and 2pm)

In addition to the above collection points, over 60s can collect their gift from Monday 3rd December to Thursday 6th December at the Registration Office, 20 Motherwell Road, Bellshill from 9.00am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.00pm.

The North Lanarkshire Council website adds: “Remember to bring two forms of id, showing your address and age, with you to collect your Christmas gift - a household bill, passport, birth certificate, driving licence, council tax bill, bus pass or heating allowance notice.”
