SINCE Cumbernauld Media brought you the exclusive news from Saturday 23rd June 2012, the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Yes campaigns have gotten underway, with activities already held.

The local ‘Yes’ campaign, since launching officially on 23rd June, has gone online, on what has been dubbed one of the biggest planned social media campaigns in history, as the referendum in 2014 approaches.

The online Twitter account has been busy promoting the pro-independence case for Scottish sovereignty since the ‘Edinburgh Agreement’ between the SNP Scottish Government and Westminster coalition Government.

The first post of the new account reads: “Hi everyone! This account will be posting about the benefits of Independence and about @YesScotland activities in the Cumbernauld area!” with its description reading: “The twitter account for the @YesScotland campaign in Cumbernauld”.

The @YesCumbernauld account confirms local suggestions that ‘Yessing’ activities have already begun in the local area, with one post from 9th October asking “Have you seen the #yesscotland leaflet yet? Coming through a letterbox near you! #indyref”, with a picture attached, titled “Being Independent. A short introduction to the Referendum and Scotland’s future.”
