LANARKSHIRE’S new grandparents are being invited to a class at Wishaw General Hospital to find out how they can best support their families following the arrival of a new baby. A grandparent session will be held in the Parenthood Room, maternity scan department, floor 2 on Friday 7th September from 10am to 12noon, and the class will include topics such as: how maternity services have changed over the years, the use of baby products, breastfeeding, baby care and how grandparents can help. Midwife Annette Cartwright, who takes the class, said: “This is an informal class which gives grandparents the chance to ask questions and find out how things have changed since they had their own children. “Grandparents can be a huge help and support to new parents and we hope this class will help them understand the information that will be given to their families and the way in which maternity and baby care is delivered now. ”We also talk about how they can help and how grandparents can look after themselves so they are fit and well to help lend a hand whenever they can!” If you would like to attend the class or would like to find out more please contact Annette on 01698 366473. | Cumbernauld news
