North Lanarkshire Council's anti-bullying strategy strengthened by support from Balfour Beatty Workplace

ANTI-BULLYING campaigners, RespectMe.org will be promoted throughout North Lanarkshire for the foreseeable at the Balfour Beatty Workplace lend their support to the national Anti-Bullying service.

Balfour Beatty Workplace will carry the RespectMe.org logo and message on all of their vans throughout North Lanarkshire.

Tony McLaughlin General Manager Balfour Beatty Workplace, said: "We manage 24 of North Lanarkshire Council's schools which were part of the PPP Education 2010 initiative.

"We were only too pleased to support Respect Me's campaign by having their logo and contact details on all our vans in North Lanarkshire."

Respect Me works with North Lanarkshire Council in schools, providing information to parents and teachers regarding anti bullying initiatives.

Speaking at the launch of North Lanarkshire Council's anti-bullying strategy, Jim Logue, Convener of Learning and Leisure Services, said: "Bullying can have a devastating effect on a young person’s life. It's essential that we tackle it and that pupils feel confident they can report incidents of bullying and schools feel well equipped to deal with them.

"This is a great way of raising awareness among pupils and parents of the support available."
