Cumbernauld’s Clyde Football Club have issued a plea for support as the start of the new season looms.

Earlier this week, Clyde FC Coach Jim Duffy said: “Training continues to go well.” “We have had three matches to date and this has given me an opportunity to view the players in action. It's also helped me make decisions on what trialists we want to continue working with and those who are not what we are looking for at this time.”

“Ideally, pre-season is a time when you add a few players but work with the bulk of the squad from the previous year and use games to work on specific aspects to progress the team. As a club, however, we are not at that stage yet and training consists of bringing in a number of trialists each week to assess and build the squad. Of course, we have to do that with the resources we have available to us at this time.

“After Saturday, I let a number go while inviting a few back and that process will go on until I'm happy with the squad. Alongside training this week, we will have two more bounce matches on Thursday and Saturday.

“Throughout the week I will also be doing what I can to secure more players and when deals are confirmed I'll notify the fans through the website,” Jim added.

With the start of the season now just over two weeks away, Jim Duffy and his staff have said that they are working hard to build a squad that is ready for the opening match against Partick Thistle in the Ramsdens Cup.

And, with the new season due to start on 28th July, Clyde Football Club have urged everyone connected with the Bully Wee, to offer whatever support they can, from sponsorship to donations.

More information is available through the club’s website.
