Cumbernauld’s equestrian champion, Sandra Dow is on her way to a prestigious championship trial in two months’ time.

Sandra Dow, who is the double winner of the Tannoch Stables Riding Club Show, which was held on 13th June, will be making her way to the Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair, in Pitlochry, after winning the Fingask Style Jumping and the Scottish and Northern Working Hunter to qualify for the Blair Horse Trials final.

The event, which will be held on Thursday 23rd August will see Sandra’s years of training come together as she competes in Scotland’s biggest equestrian event.

Sandra only bought her ‘green’ horse – generally meaning an untrained horse - eleven months ago and worked tirelessly to train Grangemore Lady Misha.

Commenting, Sandra said: “I never imagined I would be so successful on my first outing. I am really excited about going to Blair to compete this year instead of shopping."
